Shivajinagar is a bustling locale situated in the eastern part of
Bangalore. It is part of the formerly British controlled Cantonment area. It is home to numerous traders and commercial establishments.
Shivajinagar is a fine example of communal harmony, with many places of worship conforming to different faiths situated adjacent to each other. Located near the main bus stand is Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple. To the left is the Jumma Masjid. Further ahead in the same direction is the Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple and the famous St Mary's Basilica.
Beyond St Mary's Basilica, at a walking distance, is the Commercial Street, an area housing many shops and commercial establishments. The MG Road (Mahatma Gandhi Road) , another major commercial area of Bangalore, is located nearby.
Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
