Bandhas. It is one of the three main Bandhas in
Hatha Yoga, and is done in a sitting position. Mula Bandha practice involves contraction of the perineal muscles.

Mula Bandha practice is believed to stimulate the pelvic nerves, and tone the uro-genital and excretory systems. It is also known to be beneficial in the treatment of psychosomatic diseases, like Asthma and Bronchitis.
