Jalandhara Bandha (meaning throat/chin lock), is one of the three principal
Bandhas. It is usually done in the sitting position, with the chin resting on the chest.
Jalandhara Bandha compresses the carotid sinuses, and it is believed to help balance thyroid abnormality. It is also known to give mental relaxation, relieve stress, anxiety and anger.
Jalandhara Bandha is also referred to as the 'chin lock'.
