Mawsmai is a small village in
East Khasi Hills District of
Meghalaya. The village is located on the edge of the Mawsmai Ridge, about 2 km south of the
David Scott Monument at Sohra. Earlier, it was the seat of the Sohra Syiemship (Kingdom). The village is an ideal place for tourists with its misty hills, waterfalls, caves and lush vegetation.
Mawsmai Cave and Mawsmai Falls are the main tourist attractions. An observation-tower on the ledge of the Mawsmai Ridge is close to this village.
The nearest railway station is at Guwahati.
