Kuru is in the southern part of
Leh District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is surrounded by
Shangse in the south, Purni in the north and Testa in the west. Kuru is a comfortable base for trekkers and mountaineers who are on their trail towards
Phugthal and
Reru.
Kuru is accessible from Kurgiakh and Tantak Gompa.
