Guna is a picturesque spot situated 12 km from
Mcleodganj in the
Kangra District of
Himachal Pradesh. It lies at an altitude of 2,600 m, on the
Dhauladhar Sanctuary trek route in
Kangra Valley.
Guna Devi Temple, a pilgrimage centre of the
Gaddi shepherds, is the main attraction here. Surrounded by oak, rhododendron and deodar trees, Guna is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. The entire region is famous for bird watching. Laka River flows through Guna.
Kareri, a tribal village of the Gaddis shepherds, is only 13 km from Guna. Other places of interest nearby are Kareri Lake, Minkiani Pass, Triund, Baga, Rawa and Dharamsala. Base camps are available.
Nearest airport is the Gaggal Airport and the nearest railway station is at Pathankot.
