Chimra

Chimra is a beautiful village in Leh District of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies close to Igu and is to the south-east of Leh. This hilly area is a stopover for trekkers who are on the trail towards Shyok via Zingral.

Chimra is surrounded by Sakti in the north-east, Thiksey in the north, Hemis in the west and Upshi in the south.Shey Monastery and Hemis Gompa are within short distances from here.

Chimra is accessible by local transport from Shey and Upshi.
