Abran




Abran is a beautiful village in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated on the way to Trakkur from Karsha. Abran is bounded by Chibra in the south, Kushol in the south-east and Trakkur in the north-west.

Abran is a picturesque spot ideal for mountaineers and trekkers. Snow Leopards are found in and around the forested area of Abran. The 240 km long Kargil -Padum road passes through this place. The nearby places of attraction include Karsha Monastery, Zongkhul Monastery and Pensi La.

Abran can be approached from Mune. Jammu Tawi Railway Station, managed by the Northern Railways, serves Abran.
