Mune is a small village situated at an altitude of 3,900 m above sea level in
Kargil District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is on the trekking route from Raru to
Padum. It is about 18 km from
Ichar by foot.
The main attraction of the place is the Mune Monastery. It is an ideal camping site for the trekkers. Bardan Monastery is on the way to Padum from Mune. Tsarab River flows nearby.
Mune is easily accessible from Padum (12 km) - the erstwhile capital of Zanskar.
