Karchana lies in the central part of
Allahabad District. The town is located 21 km south of
Allahabad, the district headquarters.
About 15 km from Karchana is Bhita, an archeological site on the banks of the Yamuna River. Jhusi, identified with the ancient city of Pratisthanpur, is another ancient site about 17 km south of it.
Karchana Railway Station is on the Allahabad-Chunar rail route. Nearest airport is Varanasi Airport, 120 km away.
