Tiruvallam

About 16 km east of Vellore, Tiruvallam is a town in Vellore District of Tamil Nadu. This Shivasthalam is known for Vilvavananathar-Vallanathar Temple, located on the western banks of the Ponnai, a tributary of the Palar River.

Vellore Institute of Technology is on the Katpadi-Tiruvallam Road. Vallimalai is a sacred spot at about 16 km away. Melpadi, Ranipet and Melvisharam are worth visiting places within 10 km.

Tiruvallam Railway Station is on the Arakkonam-Katpadi rail route. The town is connected to Chittoor and Ranipet by National Highway 4.
