Edathua, a major Christian pilgrim center, is about 23 km south-east of
Alappuzha, in South
Kerala. This quiet town, situated on the banks of River Pamba, is famous for the Edathua Church. The place has numerous plantations, especially of rubber. Edathua also has a college and other basic urban facilities such as shopping malls.
The nearest railway stations are Thiruvalla (12 km) and Alappuzha (24 km). The Cochin International Airport, about 85 km from Alappuzha town, is the nearest airport.
