Overlooking the
Changthang Plateau, Hanle Palace is an ancient monument located at
Hanle in
Leh District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 200 km from
Leh. This palace dates back over 300 years and age and neglect has reduced it to a state of ruins. There is a monastery connected to the palace.
Hanle Observatory and
Hanle River are other points of attraction in the nearby area.
Hanle was once an important destination on the old caravan route. Hanle Palace can be reached from
Koyul, Tashigang and
Khuldo.
