Hanle




Placed at an elevation of about 13,996 ft above sea level, Hanle is a village located in Leh District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 20 km away from Koyul and 200 km from Leh. Hanle is famous for Hanle Observatory, the world’s highest observatory. Hanle Gompa is another point of attraction. Hanle River, a tributary of the Indus River, passes through this place. Hanle is connected with the neighboring places such as Punguk in the west, Rhongo in the north, Lekong Yok in the east and Khuldo in the south. Hanle can be approached via Tashigang.
