The town of Tharoch lies in the southern region of Shimla District in Himachal Pradesh. It is bounded by Chopal (10 km west), Chhachpur (12 km north), Kanda (16 km east) and Peontra (6 km south). Shimla, the district headquarters, is around 105 km south-east.
Jubbal, noted for a beautiful palace and apple orchards, is nearby. Temple Complex of Hatkoti, dating back to the Gupta period, is within a short distance. Choordhar Peak and Rohru are other prominent spots nearby.
Tharoch is connected to Shimla via Chopal and Fagu by road. Shimla Airport is the nearest airport and Shimla Railway Station is the closest rail junction.
