Sanquelim is a town located in
North Goa. It is about 37 km from
Panaji and 6 km from
Bicholim. Sanquelim is surrounded by the neighboring towns
Sarvona in the west, Curchirem in the north,
Poriem in the east and
Carapur in the south.
The century old Shri Datta Mandir is the prime attraction. Sanquelim Fort, on the left bank of the Sanquelim River, is another draw. Ghode Modni is a famous war dance popular in Sanquelim. Shri Vitthal Mandir, Harvale Falls and Lord Shiva temple are nearby points of interest. Chorley Ghat, which is on the way to Belgaum via Sanquelim and Jamboti from Panaji, is 18 km from here.
Sanquelim can be easily approached by road from Panaji and Bicholim.
