Yapola River falls in the Ladakh region, in the
Leh District of
Jammu and Kashmir. The river is on the trekking route from
Lamayuru to
Alchi. Trekkers have to follow the right bank of the river to reach the
Pensi Pass. The left bank leads to Wanla. The tightly grouped houses of the Photaskar Village are situated on the edge of the deep gorges of Yapola River. These deep gorges carry glacial melt east to the
Indus River.
