Regular practice of Utthita Trikonasana stretches and strengthens the thighs, knees and ankles. It stretches shoulders, chest, hips, groins, hamstrings and calves. This
asana stimulates the abdominal organs and improves digestion.
Utthit Trikonasana is suggested for anxiety, flat feet, infertility, neck pain, osteoporosis and sciatica.
Preparatory asanas include Tadasana and
Vrksasana. Subsequent poses are standing poses and seated forward bends.
Utthita Trikonasana is also referred as 'extended triangle pose.'
