Urakam Ammathiruvadi Temple, also known as Valalayam, is situated at
Urakam, about 12 km from
Thrissur. The temple, situated on the Thrissur-
Irinjalakuda route, is one of the major 108 Durga temples in
Kerala. The presiding deity is 'Sreevalayadheeswary' popularly known as 'Ammathiruvadi', a form of
Goddess Durga.
Urakam Ammathiruvadi Temple is an architectural marvel with its majestic Rajagopuram, compound walls, ootupura (feeding hall), nalambalam and the double storied Shrikovil.

Urakam Ammathiruvadi Temple can be reached by bus from Thrissur Bus Station. Thrissur Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
