Uddiyana Bandha is a type of yogic practice under Bandhas. It is one of the three main Bandhas in
Hatha Yoga, and is done in a sitting position. Uddiyana Bandha involves contraction of the abdomen, and deep inhalation through the nose. Exhalation is done through the mouth.

Uddiyana Bandha practice is known to be effective in many abdominal ailments, including indigestion and diabetes. Regular practice of Uddiyana Bandha is said to cause the diaphragm to rise toward the chest.
