Trout Angling

Trout angling is one of the popular sports of Kullu valley in Himachal Pradesh. There are many rivers and streamlets in the Kullu valley providing base for trout fishing.

Himachal Pradesh Fisheries Department offers an ideal holiday for anglers to enjoy the beauty of the valley and mountains, and to explore the Beas River, which flows through Kullu Valley and Mandi District.

The Beas River and its tributaries have abundant opportunities for trout fishing. Parvati River, 35 km long, is known for its fantastic size of trout. Other prominent sites perfect for trout angling are Katrain, Raison, Kasol, Naggar and the Tirthan River.

During winters especially from November to February, trout angling is allowed only with the prior permission of the tourist information centers and the fishery offices.
