Trilokinath




Trilokinath is a picturesque town on the banks of the Chenab, around 4 km south of Udaipur, in Lahaul and Spiti District. It lies at an elevation of 2760 m from the sea level. Prominent towns in the neighbourhood include Salgaraon (around 15 km west), Namu (10 km north), Thirot (8 km east) and Kugti (20 km south). Trilokinath is famed for the Trilokinath Temple, an ancient hilltop shrine sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. The annual Pauri Festival held at the temple attracts numerous devotees. Trilokinath is also an ideal destination for adventurous activities like paragliding and skiing. Shashur Monastery, Ramjak Peak, Tayul Monastery, Suraj Tal Lake, Ramjak Peak, Gepang Goh Peak, Mulkila Peak and Chandra Tal are tourist sites nearby. Major access points are Kullu Manali Airport and Joginder Nagar Railway Station.
