Tridoshas (three humors) are the three life forces or biological humors:
Vata,
Pitta and
Kapha, formed by the combination of the
panchabhuta. The concept of the tridoshas is one of the fundamental principles of
Ayurveda, the science of life. The diagnostic and healing processes in Ayurveda depend on this principle.
Vata is related to air and space, pitta related to fireand water and kapha to water and earth. These metabolic forces govern all the functions of the body and mind. Tridoshas tend to produce individual preferences in food, flavor and temperature.
Imbalance of tridoshas can lead to a number of diseases such as heart disorders, hyper tension, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcer, liver problems, diabetes and asthma.
