Thiruengoimalai




Thiruengoimalai is a sacred hillock in Tiruchirapalli District of Tamil Nadu. This pilgrim spot is known for Maragathaleswaraswami Temple (Thiruengoimalai Temple). The temple, on the hill top, can be reached by climbing 500 vertical steps. Maragathamalai, Thenkailayam, Sivasakthimalai, Malaikovil and Erattaimalai are the other names of the hillock.

River Cauvery has its course near the hillock.

Thiruengoimalai lies between Musiri and Thottiam, at about 5 km from Musiri and 40 km from Tiruchirapalli. Tiruchirapalli Airport and Tiruchirapalli Junction Railway Station are the major access points.

Gunaseelam is a pilgrim center on the way from Tiruchirapalli.
