Gunaseelam, also called South Tirupati, is a charming village located on the northern banks of Cauvery River in Tiruchirapalli District, Tamil Nadu. The name ‘Gunaseelam’ is derived from a great saint Maharishi Gunaseelar. Situated about 25 km from Tiruchirapalli, the place is a famous Hindu pilgrim center, housing one of the famous Vishnu temples in the state, the Prasanna Venkatachalapathi Temple.
