Sonanadi River is an important tributary of
Ramganga River. It enters the
Corbett National Park from the north-west direction and meets the Ramganga at the reservoir. The
Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary adjoining the Corbett National Park is named after this river.
The alluvial deposits found in the river bed was once rich in gold, hence the name Sonanadi which literally means the ‘river of gold’.
