Peshawari Pakkhe

Peshawari Pakkhe is a popular hand fan of Punjab. It is marked by its curled shape. A local variety of straw called ‘ sarkanda’ is used in the making. This straw is shaved and interwoven with bast, reeds, rushes and cornhusks.

A smaller version of this fan, called Kundaladar Pakkhe, is more fine and delicate. The name ‘kundaladar’ denotes its curled ends.
