Paliyam Palace is situated at Chennamangalam in
Ernakulam District. The palace is the abode of the famous Achans of Paliyam, who were hereditary prime ministers of the erstwhile
Maharajahs of Kochi Kottayil Kovilakom. The palace is a treasure house of the splendid architectural works of
Kerala.
The two storied palace is surrounded by walls. There are many historical documents and relics preserved in the palace. Chennamangalam Synagogue, an old Syrian Catholic Church, and a mosque are nearby.
By road, the palace can be approached from Ernakulam, about 42 km. The nearest railhead is Ernakulam Junction Railway Station.
