Palia




Palia is a prominent town situated in Kheri District. Located to the north of Lakhimpur and Kheri, it is about 16 km north-east of Bhira and 12 km south of Tirkaulia. It has a big sugar mill and a recently constructed airstrip.

Dudhwa National Park, situated along the Indo-Nepal border at the foothills of the Himalayas, is just 10 km away. Other places of interest include Kishanpur Sanctuary and Gola Gokarannath.

Palia Railway Station, on the meter gauge section of North Eastern Railways, is connected via Mailani to Lucknow and Nainital. Buses operated by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation link Palia to Lakhimpur, Kheri, Bareilly, Delhi, Shahjahanpur and other towns. Amausi Airport at Lucknow is the convenient airport. A number of middle range private hotels are available at Palia.
