Paite is a tribal group commonly found in the state of
Mizoram. A few of them also inhabit areas in
Chandel District of
Manipur. They speak a dialect known as Paite.
The tribes are known for their oral traditions, folklore, dance and music. Zangtalam is a popular dance form played by this community. Both men and women folks participate in this dance form.
Paites have their own secretive customs and regulations. They have similarities with Zou tribe, who live in Manipur.
