Nandanik Manipuri Dance Academy, popularly known as Nandanik Academy, is a leading dance institution in
Kolkata,
West Bengal. It was started in 1996 to teach, promote and propagate the noble art of
Manipuri Dancing. Founded by Poushali Chatterjee, the center also teaches Jagoi, Cholom, Thang-ta and playing of the
Pung.
Students are admitted at the age of four. Nandanik Academy follows an 8-year Visharad course of Manipuri Nartanalaya as well as the course for Manipuri Dance compiled by the Chandigarh University. Certificates and diplomas are awarded to the students after the successful completion of the course.
