Moti Masjid

Moti Masjid, built in AD 1659, is situated next to the Royal Baths in the Red Fort - the largest monument of Delhi. It was built by Aurangzeb (Shah Jahan’s son) for his personal use and security.

Also known as Pearl Mosque, the masjid is made of polished marble with superb decoration and has three domes of perfect proportions. The prayer-hall, standing on a raised platform, is inlaid with outlines of 'Musallas' (mats for prayers) in black marble. It is positioned in such a way for the mosque to be correctly facing Mecca.
