Maramon Carnival, the largest Christian gathering in Asia, is held on the banks of the
Pampa River, in
Maramon. It falls in February and lasts for 10 days. A large number of devotees from all over the country attend this carnival.
Maramon Carnival was launched in 1894 AD by the Marthoma Church of Kerala. Scholars of Christianity from various countries address the convention. Bible study and preaching occupy the major part of the program. Religious discourse and special prayers for the sick and needy are also held in the carnival.
