Mananchira is the heart of
Kozhikode city and houses the Town Hall and the Public Library. An old institution, the Commonwealth Trust's office, is located here. Kuttichira Mishkal Masjid,
Tali Temple and Mananchira Library are the nearest landmarks.
This is the area where the former courtyard of the Zamorins was. The nearby Tagore and Ansari parks, and the large maidanam (grounds) have been fused together into one Mananchira Square. At present, the square has a well laid out park, with a number of traditional Keralite houses and a large water tank nearby. The park and its premises, maintained by the Corporation of Kozhikode, is noted for its beautiful trees and plants, artificial hill, shrubs, sculpture, an open air theater and above all, a musical fountain.
Kozhikode Railway Station serves this area. Calicut Airport is the nearest airport.
