Madhuvaneswarar Temple




Madhuvaneswarar Temple is situated at Nannilam in Tiruvarur District. Built by Kochenkan Cholan, the temple holds a Rajagopuram and two prakarams. The presiding deity is Lord Madhuvaneswarar. There is a separate worship place for Goddess Madhu Vana Nayaki. Shrines for Somaskandar, Dakshinamurthy and Nartana Ganapati can be approached by a flight of steps. Towards the northern side of the temple lies the Soola Theertham. The temple contains the bronze image of Bhoga Sakthi. It celebrates various festivals such as Vaikasi Visakam, Thai Poosam, Karthikai Deepam, Aani Tirumanjanam, Aadi Pooram, Avani Moolam and Skanda Shashti.

Nannilam Railway Station is 5 km from the temple.
