Vaikasi Visakam is celebrated on the day when the asterism Visakam, in the month of Vaikasi - the 2nd month of the
Tamil Calendar. Vaikasi Visakam is observed as the birthday of
Lord Muruga. The festival falls between the mid-May and mid-June of the Gregorian calendar.
The festival is much popular in Muruga temples all over
Tamil Nadu and is held with much religious fervor.
