Machi is a remote village which serves as a block headquarters of
Chandel District. This village is regarded as the birth place of the
Marings Tribe.
Machi is situated 25 km north-east of Pallel, which is about 40 km south-east of Imphal. It takes almost 2 hrs to reach Machi from Pallel on the Imphal-Moreh National Highway 39.
