Located in
Kheri District, Kuthia is a small town about 8 km south of
Sarkhana on the route to
Dudhwa National Park. It lies 17 km south of Dudwa and 23 km north of
Nighasan. The surrounding landscape is rural and agriculture is the main activity of the population.
About 22 km east of Kuthia, on the Lakhimpur-Nighasan-Dudwa route, lies the beautiful Surat Bhawan Palace of the erstwhile Singhai state of the Terai area, which is located on 9 acres of lush green landscape. Other attractions include Dudhwa National Park, Kishanpur Sanctuary and Frog Temple.
