Situated in
Kamrup District, Kurua is a small settlement on the northern banks of the
Brahmaputra. It is about 12 km west of
Guwahati and 48 km from
Mangaldoi. A cruise along the Brahmaputra River to explore the mysterious beauty of
Assam is the major area attraction.
Kurua is bordered by Changsari in the west, Dumnichauki in the north, Sonapur in the east, and Nunmati and Khanapara in the south. Flood is a common phenomenon in this area.
Guwahati Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead. River transport facilities are available between Guwahati and Kurua.
