Mangaldoi is the seat of administration of
Darrang District,
Assam. It is a major market for agricultural produce in the district. Mangaldoi is located about 70 km west of
Guwahati.
From a tourist’s point of view, Basistha Ashram, Sankardeva Kalashetra and Assam State Museum at Guwahati and Bhairabkunda are some places worth visiting outside Mangaldoi.
Nearest airport is at Guwahati. National Highway 52 passes through Mangaldoi.
