Kumbasi is an ancient pilgrimage center located about nine kilometers south of Kundapura, in Udupi District. It is one of the seven places of pilgrimage in the region known as ‘Parashurama Srishti’, which literally mean ‘creation of Lord Parashuram’.

The place is famous for being home to the Anegudde Vinayaka Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Images of Hari, Hara and the Kamandala of Gowtama Muni are also enshrined here. Kumbasi is about 100 km from Mangalore.

There are several inscriptions stating that the place was once known as Kumbha-Kashi.
