Kondavidu




Kondavidu is a village in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. Steeped in history, Kondavidu was under the control of the Maharaja of Orissa and later it was captured by the king Krishna Deva Raya of Vijayanagar Empire in 1515 AD.

Located on the western side of Guntur, Kondavid is famed for three forts built by the Reddis. The main fort stands at a height of 320 m and is inclusive of massive ramparts, granaries and wells. Besides, a temple with carved stone pillars and a mosque can be seen within the fort.

Vijayawada Airport is the nearest airport.
