Located in the Dhouladhar range, Kaplas is a beautiful village in
Doda District of
Jammu and Kashmir. Beyond Kaplas, this range bifurcates into two - the southerly Jughar following a westerly direction ending near
Udhampur and the northerly known as Shabgarh, Trisul or Lada Dhar.
Kaplas lies at an altitude of about 8,674 ft above sea level. It is bounded by Basantgarh in the west, Bhaderwah in the north, Sarthal in the east and Dhaggar in the south. The north-western part of this village is famous for granite ore.
Kaplas can be reached from Thanala and Dudu, by road.
