Kakching lies on the southeastern corner of
Manipur in Thoubal District. The town is 45 km south of Imphal on the
Moreh-Tamu road. It is the sub-divisional headquarters of Kakching sub-division.
An agricultural town, Kakching is mainly a trading center of various vegetables, fishes and rice, next to
Thoubal. Sekmal River flourishes this town. Kakching airfield, known as the Pallet airfield in the World War II, occupies an area of about 100 acres. Shri Krishnachandra Mandir, the Narasingha Mandir and the Viswanath Mandir are the sacred places of the Hindus.
