Gurdwara Jindwari Sahib is situated at
Jindwari, a village in
Rupnagar District. This Gurdwara is situated 14 km west of Anandpur Sahib, across the Sutlej River. It is also known as Gurdwara Guruana Sahib. Guru Gobind Singh is believed to have visited this Gurdwara. It has been constructed in honor of Baba Gurditta, the youngest son of Guru Hargobind.
Baba Gurditta had once accidentally killed a cow which belonged to an old Brahmin lady. On knowing that the cow was the only source of living for the old lady and its male calf depended on it for its nourishment, Baba Gurditta imparted life into it using his mystical powers. His father, Guru Hargobind, however expressed displeasure over the killing. Baba Gurditta, conceding his mistake, ended his life. This Gurdwara marks this historical event.
Gurdwara Jindwari Sahib can be reached by road via the bus route connecting Nangal to Una. The nearest railway station is the Anandpur Sahib Railway Station.
