Gulf of Khambat Biosphere Reserve is located in
Kathiawar Peninsula and
Gujarat. The most important feature of this biosphere reserve is the large tidal range and extensive mudflats on either side of the Gulf.
These widespread mudflats attracts numerous waders, common and domicile cranes and different species of flamingos.
Visitors can view large numbers of cranes at winter. Small patches of mangroves are seen near Bhavnagar post.
Bhavnagar Airport, Bhavnagar Central Bus Station and Bhavnagar Terminus Railway Station are the nearest major access points.
