Government Silk Weaving Factory is situated on the Mananthody Road in
Mysore. The factory was built in the year 1932, by the Maharaja of Mysore.
It is now run by the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation. Fine quality of hand-loomed silk is produced here and one can see craftsmen at work and also buy silk, fresh from the looms.
The factory is opened on all days except on Sundays and 2nd Saturday of the month.
