Located on the border of India and Pakistan, Garkhun is a village in the Batalik sector of
Kargil District,
Jammu and Kashmir. It is flanked by Chorten to its west and Shore to its east.
Shudi is just two kilometers from Garkhun.
The main attraction is a minor stream, the Urdas Langpa, which separates Gurgudu from the Garkhun nullah. Garkhun lies on the banks of the Indus River and is known for its stock of Aryan race.
Garkhun can be easily reached from Dah and Dundur. The nearest railway station is Jammu Tawi Railway Station, which is on the Jammu – Pathankot line.
