Fortress of Adilabad

The Fortress of Adilabad, positioned on a hillock about a kilometer from Tughlaqabad, was built by Muhammad Shah II. This tomb with red sandstone walls is well preserved. A white marble dome imparts a unique attractiveness to this architectural marvel. It is the first Muslim building in the country with sloping walls. The building also features the Hindu architectural style. There are three monuments inside the fortress dedicated to Ghiyasuddin, his wife and son Muhammad.
