Fort Aizawl is situated around 25 km from Lienpunga village, on the way to
Changsil, in
Aizawl District of
Mizoram. Earlier it was known as Fort Aijal. The fort stands at the spot, which was the old village site of Thanruma. Built by the northern columns, Fort Aizawl was carried out by Daly’s Cachar police.
Silchar Railway Station in Assam is the nearest railhead. Aizawl is connected by National Highway 54 to the rest of the country via Silchar.
